Garden Help

Hiding...

Hiding…

Do you wonder if you could grow your own food too?  Need some assistance to get started?  Or maybe you just want a few herbs in pots for your kitchen.

I’m venturing into some consulting work locally for the island of Oahu, so if you’d like to talk about your gardening visions, send me an email!

My vision is to help people grow food, no matter where they live or what income they have.  I’m also dedicated to re-using, recycling and re-purposing things to grow food.  Why buy new stuff when there’s so much “waste” that can be creatively re-used?  Our gardens have been in pallets, piles, mounds and pots- if this is what you want, I will help you set yours up, help you select plants and create a plan with you for maintenance based on your real life.

But what if I live in a condo and have no space to garden?  Even the smallest lanai space can be used to grow food!  Let me help you do it.

I do not have a degree in agriculture, nor do I have fancy computer-aided drafting software.  What I do have is a lot of hard-earned knowledge from gardening and successfully growing food in several Zones in the U.S. and the ability to learn and apply just about anything I’ve ever tried. I am a certified Master Gardener and a graduate of Permaculture Design Course.  But Master Gardeners can’t come out to your house and sit down one-on-one to talk with you!  I would encourage people to seek out Master Gardeners in their neighborhoods and call the Oahu Helpline.

If you have done your own homework (or don’t have time) and still feel like you want some help to grow food, I can help.

An example of what consult services might look like:

  • 1-hour visit to your home, take measurements, talk about light, lifestyle and what your needs are, give suggestions
  • Help you build your garden
  • Return to your garden in 2-3 weeks to see how things are going, adjust plant or maintenance plan

I am also very open to bartering!  Do you have a service or product for trade?  Let’s talk. 🙂
